Our Environmental Commitment

While most businesses acquire or distribute their products to and from international suppliers and customers, Premium Springs is unique in that we produce and distribute (almost) exclusively right here in the Lower Mainland. The bulk of our business is water, which is acquired locally, treated locally, and distributed locally. Very few businesses in any industry can make that claim.


Premium Springs Water Company is still mindful of the impact that our use of energy and natural resources has on the environment. We have devoted attention to the environmental footprint of our delivery & logistics operations, and have established programs to minimize waste and conserve resources and energy.


Here are some of the ways in which we strive to reduce our environmental impact:

Encouraging the use of 5 gallon and 3 gallon bottles over smaller, single-serve bottles.

Our 5 and 3 gallon bottles are sanitized and refilled, which means the bottles stay out of landfills, unlike many of the small, single-serve sizes (500 ml, 1 L, and 1.5 L bottles). These larger bottles are used, refilled, and reused again and again. Using these bottles is one of the most effective ways you can drink bottled water without contributing to waste.

Choosing local suppliers whenever possible.

We choose Canadian suppliers whenever possible. By doing so, we can reduce the average distance our goods have to travel to meet our needs.

Maximizing route and vehicle capacities.

We are continually restructuring routes to ensure that delivery routes are filled to capacity. This way, we can achieve the maximum volume of water delivered per route, which reduces the overall energy used to distribute water.


We recycle all our damaged bottles, used caps, plastics, and cardboard used in our facility. We produce very little garbage waste.

Biodegradable cups and k-cups.

We have sourced out biodegradable and compostable cups and coffee pods.

Reduced frequency of billing.

With our prepaid water program, we typically issue invoices only once per 12 bottles. This reduces the frequency of billing to our customers to only once every 3-4 months, on average. This is approximately a 75% reduction of paper, envelopes, and mailing!

Electronic invoicing and statements.

We encourage our customers, whenever possible, to allow us to issue statements and invoices electronically via email. By addressing this with our customers, we have been able to reduce the number of statements and invoices to be printed and mailed to less than 1% of our overall customer base.
